Autumn - 2018 Red Wine - Napa Valley
This inaugural red wine honors Alpha Chi Omega’s October 1885 founding at DePauw University. Choosing distinct colors to identify the new fraternity was one of the first significant decisions the Founders made.
As Founder Olive Burnett Clark wrote: “The ground was covered with leaves in their brilliant colors of autumn, for this was a glorious October. A gentle breeze showered the leaves all about us and in our laps. We casually picked and arranged them. In a flash of concerted understanding, we knew we had found our colors – colors of our October founding – the scarlet and the bronze green found in the maple leaf on a perfect autumn day.”
We introduce you to Autumn. This proprietary red blend – from our award-winning winemaker Todd Heth – exhibits dark blackberry, bing cherry, and plum notes perfectly into layers of coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry with long-lasting berry fruit. Silky but firm tannins, this wine is enjoyable now but has the ability to age well in the cellar.
